Type 98 So-Da Armored Personnel and Ammo Carrier Peu après la mise en production de la chenillette Type 97 Te-Ke, une version non armée de cette dernière fut développée pour servir comme transport de troupe et transport de munitions à la demande du Bureau Technique de l'Armée. Comme pour le Type 1 Ho-Ki il ne guère apprécié par l'armée car trop lent par rapport aux camions et ne pouvait fournir la mobilité prônée par les nouvelles tactiques de l'infanterie moderne. Très peu d'exemplaires furent produits. Shortly after the entry in production of the tankette Type 97 Te-Ke, a version not armed of this latter was developed to be used like transport of troop and transport of ammunition at the request of the Technical Office of the Army. As for Type 1 Ho-Ki it was hardly appreciated by the army because too slow compared to the trucks and could not provide the mobility preached by the new tactics of modern infantry. Very few specimens were produced.
Le Type 98 So-Da pouvait transporter en plus de ses deux hommes d'équipage, 10 hommes de troupe ou 1 tonne de munitions et autre marchandises. Il fut aperçu sur de nombreux fronts durant la seconde guerre sino-japonaise et la seconde guerre mondiale comme véhicule de support d'infanterie. Type 98 So-Da could transport in addition to its two crewmen, 10 troopers or 1 ton of ammunition and another goods. It was seen on many fronts during the second Sino-Japanese war and the second world war like infantry support vehicle.
