Germans modified some of their Panhard vehicles. This P 204(f) was fitted with a part of the mantlet and the gun from a Soviet T-26 or BT-5/BT-7 tank. The vehicle therefore likely belongs to either one of the two Panzer-Division reconnaissance groups which operated the P 204(f), or a security unit.on the Eastern Front.

To coordinate the Panzerspähwagen Panhard 178(f) P204(f), command versions were developed, characterized by the installation of FuG 10 (30 watts) or FuG 11 (100 watts) stations and a frame-antenna named Hochantenne, covering the vehicle. Some vehicles were equipped with a telescopic mast fixed on the right side.
