Both vehicles were tested in 1943 for use in the Normandy Invasion, but although some mention their use near Le Havre in September 1944, they were never actually used operationally.

Some Gun Carrier had the gun removed and converted to the "Snake" mine-clearing line charge device and used for trials and training of that in 1942–43.
