Plusieurs chars expérimentaux furent réalisés à partir de la caisse du BT-5:

• BT-5AT: Char de support armée d'un obusier de 76.2 mm. Les projectiles de 6.2 kg avaient une portée de 7125 m
• BT-5TU: Char de commandement avec seulement 72 projectiles de 45 mm et une antenne-cadre autour de la tourelle
• T-5Pch: Char submersible doté d'un snorchel qui pouvait se mouvoir sous 5 m d'eau.

Plusieurs chars expérimentaux furent réalisés à partir de la caisse du BT-7:

• BT-IS: Char avec un châssis amélioré qui ne fut cependant jamais utilisé par l'Armée rouge
• BT-SV-2 "Cherepakha": Char avec tourelle et caisse redessinées et améliorées qui ne fut cependant jamais utilisé par l'Armée rouge
• KBT-7: Char de commandemant (K = Komandirsky). La tourelle standard était remplacée par une tourelle fixe. Modèle qui ne fut cependant jamais utilisé par l'Armée rouge
• OT-7: Char lance-flammes qui ne fut cependant jamais utilisé par l'Armée rouge
• HBT-7: Char pour la guerre chimique (H=Himicheskiy ou chimique) qui ne fut cependant jamais utilisé par l'Armée rouge
• SBT: Char poseur de pont qui ne fut cependant jamais utilisé par l'Armée rouge
• TTBT-7: Char télé-commandé par radio qui ne fut cependant jamais utilisé par l'Armée rouge

Several experimental tanks were produced starting from the hull of the BT-5:

• BT-5AT: Tank of support armed with an howitzer of 76.2 mm. The projectiles of 6.2 kg had a range of 7125 m
• BT-5TU: Tank of command with only 72 projectiles of 45 mm and cadre-antenna around the turret
• T-5Pch: Sinkable tank equipped with a snorchel which could be driven under 5 m of water.

Several experimental tanks were produced starting from the hull of the BT-7:

• BT-IS: Tank with an improved chassis which was however never used by the Red Army
• BT-SV-2 "Cherepakha": Tank with redrawn and improved turret and hull which was however never used by the Red Army
• KBT-7: Tank of commandemant (K = Komandirsky). The standard turret was replaced by a fixed turret. Model which was however never used by the Red Army
• OT-7: Tank flame thrower which was however never used by the Red Army
• HBT-7: Tank for the chemical war (H=Himicheskiy or chemical) which was however never used by the Red Army
• SBT: Tank layer of bridge which was however never used by the Red Army
• TTBT-7: Tank remote-controlled by radio which was however never used by the Red Army
